Over the summer of 2022, I graduated college and accepted a job with NDSU Athletics as their lead graphic designer.
The Fall 2022 season was my first step back into college athletics in over a year, something I was very excited for. This opportunity provided a platform to showcase my skillset, and allowed for overall growth as a designer and young professional. I was back to my roots, and my goal was to keep building where I left off.
Soccer
This was my first venture with NDSU, starting with the game day graphic for our matchup against Southern (see below). With it being my first sport here, my goals included establishing a noticeable, consistent look and getting fully accustomed to the NDSU brand.
Cross Country
This is where I started to get experimental with the NDSU brand, seeing what sort of artistic directions I could take with it. Some were interesting, some were eye-catching, some were weird. All were fun to make.
Golf
Inspired by the class and simplicity of the game itself. If only I was better at playing. This style also allowed for unique concepts and ideas when desired, such as an alternate look for when our women's team competed in Hawaii.
2022 National Signing Day
This was a challenging project to work on, balancing nine different design concepts and individual branding with one single tagline:
"Signed."
I put together all nine of the graphic templates, which were distributed and updated as necessary by our communications department.
Posters
The theme I chose for our official winter sports posters, available for fans at every home event, involved the "gold standard" of NDSU Athletics. Fitting that one of our school colors matches that.
The result incorporates plenty of golden trim and accents, paired with green metallic textures to complete the canvas. Our athletes and iconic Fargo city sights make up the main composition, with our full season schedule laid out underneath.
Miscellaneous
One-off graphics for various promotions, events and anything NDSU related.
